Cooling Water

Chiller and Cooling Tower

Both a chiller and a cooling tower are used to remove heat from a liquid, which is used as a coolant in large devices. Chillers absorb heat from a coolant, which is fully contained in a cooling system. Chillers utilize compressors, evaporator and condenser heat exchangers. The condenser heat exchanger is the major component that rejects heat from the chillers to air. Cooling  towers use evaporation cooling to cool condenser water from a chiller. The discharged water is then recycled back into the plant or discharged into the environment.

Application : Cooling Water

PUMP: RBB 125 40F 4C75 181
PERFORMANCE: Flow 400 m3/h – head 36 m
LIQUID: cold river water with small particles.

Cooling water RB pumps are used for supplying heat exchangers with cooling water. Their flow rate varies depending on the heat flow to be dissipated. For cooling using a cooling tower, the water is drawn once from a river, lake or the sea depending on the power station's location, and fed into a collecting tank underneath the cooling tower. The water is drawn from there with pumps and transported through heat exchangers, then returned to the collecting tank via the cooling tower.
